Battle of the Bands at the Tongaat Charity Fair
There has been a marked re-surgence in the live music industry , primarily due to the success of the Battle of the Bands show, which featured at Sibaya Casino last year.
The first of its kind in more than 20 years , the show featured two of KZN’s most well known and long serving bands – The Tyles from the north coast and The Magnets from the south. With the shows all being sold-out many hundreds were disappointed not to have had the chance to witness this musical masterpiece.
We have engaged the promoters to revive the show, and have it staged at the Tongaat Charity Fair on Sat 29 March.
The thousands expected to attend will witness an entertainment spectacular as the show will be reproduced in its entirety and will feature the Tyles , The Magnets and the dynamic KarouCharou as the emcee. Lovers of old school live music will be taken on a musical journey .
The Magnets, who have been performing for more than forty years have legions of fans all over the country. They are most noted for their cover versions of hits of the Beatles, which is why they were nick named the Fab Four. Watch in awe as 71 year old Lulu Pillay Strums lead guitar like he did 30 years ago.
The Tyles are a versatile band capable of playing all genres of music . The ace in their pocket is their dynamic lead guitarist – SaiyanNaidoo , who is ony 10 yars old. His ability to strum hits like Hotel California , Black Magic Woman and Sultans of Swing , to name but a few, had grown men in tears at Sibaya. He was the showstopper at Sibaya and will definitely wow the audience at the Tongaat Charity Fair.
The glue that binds the entire show together is the enigmatic and charismatic KarouCharou. He has the uncanny ability to make the audience part of the show. Don’t be too surprised if you are one of 5000 people standing and singing to a Creedence hit.
It’s going to be an epic night to remember in Tongaat
